I was researching 📹Josh and came across one of his signature issues: Right to Repair. I had no idea how important this was. Most people in big cities probably don’t either. The problem: Modern tractors are basically giant computers. If a sensor fails during harvest, a farmer can replace the broken part, but the tractor still won’t run. The manufacturer locks the software. The repair has to be “authorized” w/proprietary software that only an authorized dealer has.  This means waiting days for a technician while crops sit in the field and thousands of dollars are lost. Farmers position: “If I paid $500,000 for this tractor, I should be able to repair it.”📹Josh Turek agrees. His Right to Repair proposal would require manufacturers to provide. …repair manuals, diagnostic software, replacement parts, and special tools to farmers and independent repair shops.
